law system Empty law system

i think the server should have a set of laws because i hate it when i am building and some one walks in and kills you for no reason and greifes your crops. i think you should only be able to kill someone in the arena or if they both agree to fight. but you can still kill outlaws as much as you like.

i have built a wall around my town and closed the gates to stop this from happening when i just want people to visit in peas without having to worry abought someone attacking me in my own town.

Hmmm....Why wouldn't you close the gates in the first place? That would have stopped them immediately.

clayton is suggesting a set of rules that prevents certain things from happening. there is no consequence if a duke kills a baron. is that sensible on a pvp server? sure. is it sensible on a roleplaying server? certainly not.

ally pvp should be treated like ally griefing. i think thats what clayton is trying to get at. i dont think its such a bad idea. the main issue for me is monitoring such a thing...

i think the monitoring could be done by more than just you trei you could have a law informant team like guards or something and when ever something happens we write it down on a note pad and report it to you. and if they claim the guard is making it up you can check the logs. or we could screen shot it and post it on the forum and wright what has happened.

but what should the punishment be?

Well... you first have to capture the lawbreakers before you can punish them and you CANT do that anyway. So what's the point exactly?

well all the guards have to do is report them to trei and he can deal with it or something.

the punishment could maybe be a demotion or a fine.

well we could screen shot the claytonmil1997 was killed by demonicpuppy and the killer would have to explain his/her selves weather or not they were on their own land.

I, for one, think that this is a good idea. However, we have no way of accurately implementing something like this. Until we do have the means, we cannot create and enforce this law system.
