Whats needed in a town?

me and a friend want to start a town but don't really know what's needed for it like what buildings and stuff

officially, to start a town, you need the things listed on the website: http://www.distantlands.net/wiki/towns see the first five steps there. if you dont want to make it an official town, it can be anything you want, as long as its medieval in style. hope that helps

just joined today. are we allowed to make our own designs for our houses but keep all the other buildings medieval? Were building on top of a mountain so it would be cool to have the whole thing protected.

please keep all constructions medieval in style. if youre not sure, just google "medieval buildings" and youll see what i mean. once youve met all the requirements on the towns page i linked you, let me know, and ill come and look. if you dont want to make it an official town (which is easier for both of us) then just pay me the money for the protection and ill protect your town area from griefers.

just we dont like being nomads, will we be able to change our rank if we don't belong to a town and does the cost of the protection change on how big the place is?

pricing is on the towns page. the basic price for 16x16 is $90. see your money by typing /money. if you buy your region straight out, youll be nomads with a protected region. if you want to start a town, one of you will become mayor. the mayor can then promote or demote his town members between various ranks.
