advertising?

im looking for input. do we need to advertise? is it a good idea? ive considered the rush of griefers/trolls that will inevitably come with advertising, but i think i can set up something so that they apply on this forum and they get whitelisted if theyre accepted. heres a potential applicant application:

minecraft username: [should match forum username]
age: [rough age, we dont need your exact age]
what is roleplaying?: [just so we know youre capable]

add stuff about you reading the rules here http://www.distantlands.net/wiki/rules and promising not to break them lest you get banned

what do yall think?

Yeah i think its a good idea there isn't a great deal of people on the server lately and its like very lonely at times, i usually play minecraft to talk to friends and cant do that if there's no one on, it will also help the villages to get more members like theres some great villages but everyone wants to be a mayor theres like 3 people in each town thats fit for like 15 people so hoplefully we can have some more miners farmers Ect

I think this is a very good idea, like demonic said. There aren't as many people joining lately, whether they're just deformed or don't play minecraft; I can't really say. As long as people join you shoul be able to keep them in order.Also, are you making a video showing the server?

This is a good idea I think it will do something good to Distantlands more people will join it and there would be more populated towns. One Question will you run a background check sort of thing to see if they are legit?

i dont really have the setup to make videos. now that minecraft is even more resource intensive than before, i get even more lag when recording on anything but the lowest settings. i still intend to do it, but id need better hardware first.

as to background checks, theres the form theyll have to complete, and i can also do google searches for their usernames to see what comes up. or i can just reject their application on the basis of i dont feel like it :3
