Bounties for players!
Just another suggestion...
I find it quite funny that we have outlaws, but no kind of real laws to keep them in check.
I think we should introduce bounties for people on the server.
For non outlaws there would be a place where you can find bounties on outlaws. Outlaws are set a bounty by a high ranking member (lord/emperor) by what crimes they have done and the threat they pose to citizens (outlaws wont get bounties if they haven't done anything).
(e.g. Liamod $5000-countless murder, theft, high risk to society) or something
When people kill the outlaw in question they can receive the bounty from the admin/emperor
(proof like death screenshots, or others vouching for you would be necessary)
Outlaws could have a similar system for if they commit certain crimes they get rewarded
(e.g. murder (depending on rank, higher reward) or thefts so outlaws can fence stolen goods)
(proof would be required)
bounties can be shared by a "group" but there would also have to be proof of them all working together to split the reward.
Spam killing people doesn't add onto the reward so you only have to kill them once
I know this would be hard to track and would be very tedious but it would add so much more depth to the server.
(and would actually get people to get up and help keep outlaws in check!)

how about people who have a bounty on their head have to carry a unique item and you just give it to the admin when you see them to get a reward? admins can enchant items right? so just have some item like shears and enchant them. whatever the level of the enchantment is equals the reward. so shears with protection 1 get you $1000 but shears with protection v would get you $5000. i like your idea commander thats just my thoughts on it...

interesting idea. if anyone finds a bukkit mod that does this, feel free to suggest it.
i like edges idea but its still pretty tricky. people might not carry it on them all the time. the hard part is providing evidence that youve killed someone

Well, that's why we are thankful of Trei, who monitors the logs and can watch out for suspicious behavior. =D
Edit: Besides, we have a trustworthy community... right?
I still like the item idea.
(The exploit is: That you get a friend to accept a bounty on you, he kills you and you both share the reward.)
