new empires

i think we should be able to start our own empire (country) and become an emperor or king and have our own lords and all that stuff. after we buy enough protection this should be an option to all that can afford it.

one thing i am thinking of doing is removing warrior or miner (probably miner) and adding kings. in reality, kinds are below emperors, so this can apply to our forum. as we all know, there are many mayors. making the best mayors dukes and making the best dukes kings should even out class distribution a bit. this would happen around the time of the next release if we added this.

could you elaborate what you mean by "factions", commander?

what do you people think?

i assume you mean privileges Wink im not sure. i dont want to give out things like godmode, creative, or flight, or anything admin-like. maybe some kind of access to some sort of pool of resources? has anyone got any ideas?

although, the idea isnt to encourage people to aim to be king to get access to the kingly benefits. the idea is to reward and identify those who are already worthy of being a king by granting them such a title. ie, i dont want 10 people trying to be king!

By factions I meant sub-factions or clans under the major RP Empires.

do you mean purely superficial factions, like the classes? as in, being a miner doesnt actually give you anything different to being a soldier; its just a different coloured name. i do like this idea but implementation will be tricky.

people already belong to towns, have classes, and follows either ashmah or sharnan or themselves. i fear that something else to join will make it more confusing.

what would be the purpose of factions and how would they differ from towns? if you could reply in a separate thread about factions as a suggestion, commander, that would be groovy Smile

About 'countries'

If 'countries' got really big it wouldn't be too good because most of the map space would be taken up by four or five countries... Unless we could have towns inside countries?

keep in mind that a region can only be within a region once. in other words, you cant have a region within a region within a region (i think). so you can have a country region, and a town region within that, but any home regions within the town would mess it up.

i seriously doubt people will get countries so big that the map will be consumed by regions. there are places where nobody hasnt even been yet.
