potential lag fix
do you get bad lag during peak hours? the method i used to fix my internet may fix yours. read below and try it. open your cmd (command prompt). you can usually go to 'run' and type cmd and hit enter and it will come up. itll give you a dos prompt.
if youre on an ethernet cable, type this: netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Local Area Connection" mtu=950 store=persistent
if youre on wireless: netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Wireless Network Connection" mtu=950 store=persistent
and press enter. it should work immediately. if this doesnt help AT ALL, then the issue may be with your computer hardware/software, phone lines, internet plan, local area, or internet service provider. but this worked for me so it might work for you. how this works is that it makes your packets smaller so the network prioritises them, since theyre easier to send and receive. larger packets send more data at once, but have a high chance of getting choked in the network.
please note that this halves packet data sizes sent by your computer. this means that it sends TWICE AS MUCH DATA, essentially doubling the amount of traffic going through your network. dont use this if you often download large files such as movies, torrents, games, or anything like that.
